I believe in addition to Merde a complementary 'A Pfffff' is in order.
I use my snowboard gloves when riding in freezing conditions and I know people use self heating gloves for longer rides (mine are short). Can't help with the shoes, though.
I love reading this stuff. I recognize the struggles so bad, training in winter weather and find yourself stranded. These are the days you will remember though haha! I use the super thin plastic sandwich bags on extremely cold days: sock=>sandwich bag on the toes=>second sock. Keeps your toes nice and warm 😊
